Busy, busy April 0 (0)

I get the first look at the Peacekeeper cover! Exciting… but after the first thrill, I have some consternation. Major Kedros isn’t blond. I know there’s nothing that can be done about the cover, considering the artwork is done and I’m a pretty small fish in this publishing pond. Since February, my husband’s been asking […]

My first editorial letter 0 (0)

I have no idea where February went, but March has been filled with making changes to Peacekeeper. I received my first editorial letter, which is always scary for a writer, from my editor Jessica. She didn’t want serious plot/characterization changes, but she did ask for clarification in certain parts. She also wanted one or two […]

So that title doesn’t work for you? 0 (0)

How slow does the publishing wheel turn? 0 (0)

Can’t help but feel like a poster child for the "Publishing is slooooow" education campaign. I’m still waiting for the contract and the editorial letter. On the other hand, I know everybody’s busy and I’m getting in some writing time on Genetic Chords. Happy Thanksgiving — hope everyone’s turkey and ham was as good as […]

Three-book contract with Roc! 0 (0)

Woo-hoo! Roc is offering me a 3-book contract, all centered about Major Ariane Kedros and her world. The editor will be Jessica Wade, and she anticipates Crew Tempo will be published in late 2008 or early 2009. (Do I have a great agent or what? Thanks, Jennifer!) So far, I’ve gotten the verbal offer (the […]

Does this short story have a home? 0 (0)

For some strange reason, I pull out "A Node in Time" and review the judge’s comments (it won second place in the Short Story division of the 2005 Paul Gillette Memorial Writing Contest ). I edit the story and send it out to start making the rounds… Any opinions?Illuminating (0)Interesting (0)Useful (0)Ho-Hum (0)
